in a Changing World
My family and I attend University
Presbyterian Church (UPC). At UPC, our goal is to be a caring community in a
changing world. UPC is lead by Senior Pastor, Mark Bates and Co-Pastor,
Scott Puckett. Worship services are
at 8:15, 9:45, and 11:15 every Sunday. If you are an early bird, come at
8:00 to enjoy bagels, pastries, and coffee from Panera's Bakery. In each of the
services,
the Praise Band sings and plays wonderful music. The band is made up of
many talented individuals. Some of the instruments that they play are;
bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard,
drums, saxophone, violin, and flute. They recorded a joyous
music CD named "Waiting in the Whisper". The CD's are being sold
after each of the services for $13.00. Every December the Praise Band and other
talented individuals do what is called a "Coffee House" at the
church. At the Coffee House, they sing Christmas songs and do skits.
Coffee and desserts are served by the youth group members. It is well
worth seeing, a night to remember. Please come and join us for the next
"Coffee House".
UPC has youth group gatherings for both high school and middle school
students. The high school youths meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm and
the middle school youths meet on Thursday night at 7:00pm. The high
school group go on mission trips in the summer. Two years in a row,
they went to Mexico. During their stay in Mexico, they helped to
construct some needed buildings and helped the children with
bible studies. Camping trips are another fun thing that both youth groups
do. Each year the youth groups go to Camp Kahalua. At camp they are involved
in many fun activities; singing, worship services, swimming, tubing, snorkeling,
etc.
Come and join us.
